The progression system serves as a means of measuring your experience in the game and unlocking customization elements. Completing races awards you with experience points (XP). The more XP you earn, the higher your level - and the higher your level, the more unlockables you get access to.
The total XP award you receive for finishing a race is a sum of 5 compound awards, which are calculated as follows:
floor(numberOfLaps * numberOfCheckpoints / 30)floor(totalTireXPGained / 100)numberOfOvertakes * 100pointsForPosition * 10100You start at level 1, which requires you to score 750 XP to advance to level 2. From here onwards, the number of points you need to earn before levelling up (NOT the amount you'll need to have accumulated in total) gets increased by 250.
This means that in order to reach level 3, you're required to collect an additional 1000 XP. For level 4, that's an extra 1250 points to earn. For level 5, you're looking at 1500 XP to gain, and so on.
This table lists XP gain targets for reaching levels 2-50.
