Although this project serves as the game's official Wiki website, it doesn't mean it's not open to community contributions - quite the opposite, actually! Whether you want to fix a typo or create a whole new category with multiple subsections and pages, it's always the thought that counts.
In order to maintain a consistent style and quality across each article, contributors are required to follow a set of guidelines regarding the writing style, as well as the use of editing tools provided by Wiki.js and AI assistants (such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, or DeepSeek).
Don't worry if your first article or edit doesn't follow these guidelines perfectly, as your fellow contributors can help you correct all the mistakes. Should you have any further questions or suggestions concerning the Wiki, you're more than welcome to join the game's Discord and assign yourself the Wiki Contributor role to gain access to all the project-related channels.
Make sure to adhere to the rules below to keep your writing consistent with the rest of the Wiki.
Section headings should always be used in consecutive order, starting with level 1. If you end up reaching levels 4-6, you might want to consider splitting up your article into multiple smaller pages.
Titles of articles and headings, as well as names of upgrades, tracks, and championships should apply the APA Style title case. It boils down to 3 rules:
When in doubt, use Capitalize My Title to generate a compliant title.
Avoid using abbreviations and acronyms, because their meaning might not be clear to the reader. You can, however, use a short form that's often present in the game itself.
Use neutral expressions and participle forms over emotionally-charged words (including the positive ones) and active voice with I or we as the subject respectively.
Here are some best practices and conventions regarding the use of editing tools. Refer to the Wiki.js user guide for more details.
Producing articles and media assets via large language models is PROHIBITED. You are allowed to use AI assistants for spellchecking and making simple stylistic edits, as long as these changes don't affect the text's factual accuracy and follow the writing style guidelines outlined above.
Use the Markdown Editor for creating new articles, as it offers the most feature-rich editing experience.
If you make a mistake and select a different editor, you should be able to convert your page to the Markdown one by hovering over the Edit Page button in the bottom-right corner of the rendered page view and clicking the button with the lightning icon. You might need to make manual adjustments in case the automatic conversion fails for certain elements.
categorycategory/articlecategory/subcategorycategory/subcategory/articleIn case of a multi-word name in a path fragment, you should apply the kebab-lower-case naming.
An article titled Lorem Ipsum that's in the Bar subcategory of the Foo parent category should be given a path of foo/bar/lorem-ipsum.
Given the convention described in the previous section, adding tags to pages shouldn't be necessary, but this guideline could be subject to change in the future.
